Lifesystems was born from a real-life experience that happened to founder Mark Cobham. As a young traveller he ventured off the beaten track and found himself needing urgent medical attention. Fortunately one of his companions was a nearly qualified doctor but it left him thinking how he would have coped had circumstances been different, and Lifesystems was born.
What that experience became was the UK’s first travel-specific first aid kit, produced in 1989. Since then, Lifesystems has continued to develop a huge range of expedition gear – everything from bednets to survival shelters, first aid kits to headtorches – that aim to aid people on whatever adventure they set their sights on next.
