SHIMANO is expanding its Clean Cockpit concept to a broader range of hydraulic brake and shift levers, making cleaner cockpit layouts and tidier cable routing more accessible across a wider range of bicycle segments.

First introduced to the market in 2023 with the high-end CUES series, SHIMANO’s Clean Cockpit concept was developed to enhance the visual integration and aesthetic appeal of modern bicycles. By supporting a cleaner handlebar area and more organised cable routing, the concept helps create a more refined and contemporary bike appearance.

While the concept was well received, its adoption was initially limited to a small number of higher-end bikes. With this latest product update, SHIMANO is bringing the Clean Cockpit approach into the mid-range category, beginning with new hydraulic brake levers and compatible shift levers.

Cleaner Integration for Everyday Bikes
As bicycles become more integrated in their design, cockpit appearance has become an increasingly important part of the overall riding experience. Cable routing, lever placement and component layout all contribute to how a bike looks and feels.

By expanding the Clean Cockpit concept into more affordable segments, SHIMANO enables bike brands to offer a tidier, more refined handlebar layout on a wider range of everyday bicycles. For riders, the result is a cleaner-looking cockpit that better matches the design language of modern bikes.

The new component updates support SHIMANO’s continued focus on practical innovation: small, meaningful changes that improve the usability, appearance and integration of the complete bicycle.

Updated Hydraulic Brake Levers and Shift Levers
The new Clean Cockpit-compatible models include updated hydraulic brake levers and shift levers across SHIMANO’s mid-range line-up.
